Groom wedding Speech

Groom Speech

Before giving out the groom speech example, I must tell you that there are a lot of different such speech examples available everywhere. The interesting thing about these examples is that even if at first sight they might seem to be similar, they are very different. This is why I suggest that you don’t quote any wedding speech example you find, but you should rather adapt it to your own needs, changing it based on your imagination and creativity. Please think of this groom wedding speech example as a simple tutorial or sample, which needs to be edited and changed accordingly!

“Hi everyone, may I have your attention?! I would like to welcome all of you to our wedding dinner, a day we have all been looking forward to. I know there are some of you who took free days or traveled for good hours to get here – you have no idea how thankful I am that you all made it!There have been a lot of things going on recently and organizing the wedding itself wasn’t at all easy. This is why I must thank Sarah’s parents for all of their support, this is why I want to thank my parents as well. Also, I must mention that John, Brian, Shawn, Melinda and Carla also helped us a lot and I think we would’ve been lost without them! Thank you all, my friends! And now, let me confess how wonderful Sarah is today! Sarah, you look amazing, I just can’t take my eyes off you! You know, I have always loved you, since the first day we’ve met, but I never saw you shine as you shine today and this makes me feel more happy and more of a man than ever before! People, let me tell you the short version of our story. I met Sarah back in high school, we were just kids, like 15 years old. It was all love at first sight and I remember that we felt a bit shy around each other from lack of any experience but then within a couple of weeks we started dating and our lives started changing for the good. I remember that learning became a lot easier and I felt more energy every single day as I woke up, because my first thought was always Sarah and the love I felt with her.

Then, I remember the times when we went to college together and how inexperienced we were to make our own money and pay for our own food and everything else we needed – but we went through those times happily, supporting each other all the time. Sarah, thank you! Thank you for being there back then and always, since I first met you! You must know that you are the only woman I have eyes for, you must know that you are the only woman I ever loved since I was 15.

I want to thank your parents as well. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Jackson for trusting me with your daughter, I will take care of her, cherish her and love her until I live!

Let us toast to my wife and me and to our happiness! Thanks everyone, cheers!”

Every wedding day comes to the moment when someone should make a speech. A few sentences directed at guests and family members. Who usually does that? It is almost always the same three people; the father of the bride, the best man and the bridegroom. Now we know that, we can move on further and answer the main question: who makes the first speech at a wedding reception? Most often the first person is the father of the bride. He welcomes all guests that have come to the wedding reception and says a few words to both families.

Second in the queue is… yes, you my friend. As a bridegroom, you will have your chance to demonstrate your carefully prepared speech to your guests :) . In short, you should thank the father of the bride for his speech – it is good to be second because you have got all attention of wedding guests on yourself, after the bride’s father’s speech, and it is easy to begin your speech by saying thank you. After that a few sentences towards your guests ( that’s if they are still listening ;) ) and now you are in the middle of your speech. What’s left is only the part previously mentioned when you say to your wife how happy you are and how much you love her. Not easy but I’m sure you will manage. Next you should thank your best man and make a good funny toast (funny is not necessary, only if you are funny person and you know that your guests will like it). Continue reading »

Groom’s speeches most often are easy to write, because they are almost, all the same. So the quickest way to get one is to find one that has already been done, or find a few examples and create a new one using example speeches as a base. There is nothing wrong with that strategy, some of us feel better with sinning, some feel better with writing and some feel the best when they do nothing at all ;) . As I said, using ready made speeches is okay, you might have a problem though when you want have something fresh in your speech. If you are looking for some ideas keep reading, because I’ve got few for you.

Start with a joke. A good entrance always makes a good impression, if you start your speech with a good joke, you will have every ones attention and it will be a good start to your  groom speech. Be careful though, think twice before you choose your joke, sometimes you can have completely different reaction to what you expected. Ask your future wife for her opinion, if she will says okay, you know you are safe. If you are brave enough you can try and thank the father of the bride for his speech with a joke, this means you will have a good introduction and one less “thank you” to say. Continue reading »

If your groom speech is ready and written, now the time has come to prepare yourself to deliver your speech. If you don’t have your speech ready and you have a little time check groom speech examples and groom speech ideas. If you really don’t have time use readymade speeches. I think that preparing the speech is the hardest part of the whole process, so now you can console yourself because the rest should be easy :) .

Ok, how you can prepare yourself to deliver a speech? First of all read your speech a few times out loud. Maybe this does not sound like brilliant advice, but trust me, this is a very important step that helps find parts of your speech that sound weird, or not exactly as you wished. It will help you as well to hear your voice in the same way as your wedding guests will when you deliver your speech at the wedding reception. Try to sound like a self-confident person. If you are a shy person and you don’t feel comfortable when you need to say a few things to a big group off people, really don’t worry too much. Remember that it’s your wedding day and there will be your friends and your family around you. People are there because they want to enjoy your happiness and share and relive this wonderful day with and for you, so you should not be threatened by them. Continue reading »

Things you should know to write and prepare to deliver your groom speech.

Before doing anything, think about how much time you have to write and prepare your speech. If while reading this sentence, you already know that you will not make it on time, do not waste your time for looking inspiration just look for a groom wedding speech that is already done. There is no shame in that because as a bridegroom you have many things on your mind and sometimes it happens. It is not possible to do everything on time. If you have found a readymade speech and you are happy with it that is really good, you just saved 70 percent of the time that is needed to prepare and deliver a speech. If you have found a groom’s speech but you like only a piece of it, write it down and keep searching, there is a good chance that you will find another piece that you like as there are plenty of groom speeches on Internet.

If you have enough time to write the speech by yourself, great! If you do everything right you will be very pleased and proud of yourself when you deliver your speech at the wedding reception. Continue reading »

Groom Speeches – The one thing you are going to have to think about and plan if you are going to get married. Now I don’t care what anyone tells you but there ain’t too many of us men folk that can stand up in front of close relatives and friends and give a groom speech for 10 or 15 minutes without first preparing for it – very few if any.

I remember a few years back that I was best man at my brother’s wedding and I was planking it I can tell you. I wasn’t use to standing up in front of people so I knew I would have to prepare for my best mans speech. The one thing it did for me though was it was the best training that I could ever have for when I would need to give a speech at my own wedding.

Groom Speeches – Some Good Tips

Here are some useful tips for you when you start to plan your own groom speech:

  1.  Don’t plan the funny stuff straight off. That will come later. I found this to be of great benefit.
  2.  Just jot down some points about how you and your bride to be met, how long you are together, some memorable events etc.. Continue reading »
